Florence thank you Letter

Hello Our Friend and Family in Christ!

Firstly I want to say thank you to God and then to you all. I was admitted into hospital with serious stomach pains, I was 34 weeks into my pregnancy. Doctor said rest for 24hours and would rather I waited until 36/ 38 if I could before giving birth, gave me injections, then sent me home, God is good. I felt better.

I was admitted at Myanmar hospital on 28th in the morning for 2days and gave birth at 6:43Pm to our son Joshua 3.6 kilo, unfortunately he had jaundice.

We were following up his jaundice from the 1st to 11th of December, next Doctors appointments in 2month. Our family wants to say thank you so much and we appreciate your prayer support.

We now have new member in the Safe house with many brothers and sisters full of Love.

 Psalms 127:3-5

“Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”

In His Love!

THIS MONTH'S HOME VISIT

In August we undertook home visits to drug addicted and homeless people in the Tachilek area (see the photo below). Green dress lady wants Supporting Heart to support her children. She remarried and lives with her husband at the cemetery. Two of her children are living with grandparents. All of them are drug addicted. The children already at the school but have no stationery, no uniforms nor money for extra study sessions. Her oldest daughter is in Grade 5 and her youngest son in kindergarten. In our next newsletter, we will revisit this family and tell you how they are getting on.

Our team visited the street families near the cemetery and gave food to them. Some of these people are anxious to get clean in order to get a job. This is the environment from which we strive to motivate and support children, to work towards a better life of good health, dignity and self-sustainability.

 HOW WRONG THEY ALL WERE

Each month we will show you the change in the lives of one or more of these precious children now living in Baan Rainbow to show you what you are supporting.  Of course we have to protect identities but these details are true and you are making each of these fairy tale endings happen.

We will begin with John (not his real name)

.

upload.jpg

Photo 1, John aged about 5, not orphaned, living on and off the streets, at high risk of being trafficked. His mother is HIV positive and has been using drugs for many years. His father died when he was 4. Supporting Heart took him into their Safe House “Baan Rainbow” aged 7 and prepared him for school for the first time in his life.

Photo 2, John aged 9, receiving awards from his school for coming first not just in his class but in his YEAR of over 100 children. THIS IS WHAT REALISED POTENTIAL LOOKS LIKE. He has a dream of becoming a Policeman because he could help his people who have no education.

John is just one of our Baan Rainbow children whose life has changed beyond his wildest dreams. Over the months you will hear of other children whose lives have dramatically changed, who were once written off as having no future. I look forward to sharing these little stories with you monthly. They show what a difference your support makes in the lives of highly vulnerable children. Give yourself a pat on the back.

COST OF OPERATIONS

We need your help to keep Baan Rainbow open. Can you imagine the trauma and tragedy these precious lives would experience if they have to return to living on the street and end their schooling? This doesn't have to happen. We don't need much to stabilise these young lives. All donations large or small, regular or one off, are welcome.

The overall annual cost of maintaining one child at Baan Rainbow is just US$4,320 (129,600THB).

At present we have 21 people living in Baan Rainbow (17 students and 4 staff members). The cost to keep each student off the streets and in school is $90 per week.

We start by hoping uncle Frank had a good holiday. He went to England in August. He returned on 28th of September.

   THIS MONTH'S HOME VISIT

In September we undertook home visits to drug addicted and homeless people in the Tachilek area (see the photo below). Red shirt lady wants Supporting Heart to support her children. She remarried and lives with her husband in a rented room. She has 5 children. The two oldest daughters were lost to human trafficking. Two children are with her but eat at her friend's because she has no money and cannot afford to feed them. The third daughter is 13 years old and working in a Karaoke shop. Her new husband is drug addicted and is leaving her. She has some paralysis and cannot walk very well. She wishes that her two youngest children can stay somewhere safe and have enough food.

Our teams went to the cemetery to give food to the street families. Marry is the girl in the white shirt who is smiling. She says thank you so much for sponsoring her to study. She is happy at school and has new friends.

This year the school gave prizes early to students who passed the end of year test from last year. Three of our girls are the Top 3.  One from Grade 4 was FIRST. Second and third places were from Grade 5. What an achievement for ex-street children. This proves that children can thrive when they are given the smallest chance to take control of their lives. We all thank YOU for making it possible.

We hope you remember our boy Kii Pii. We wrote about him in the January 2018 Newsletter when his father died in Dec 2017. He was living on the street and begged for many years to look after his drug-addicted father. He has been living and training at supporting heart for 5 years. He wants to be good leader and big brother to the Safe house children. This month we send him to Leadership Training for 3 months from Sep 1st to Nov 30th at Mandalay Division. His life has changed because of your support. We all say Thank you.

July 2018 Update

This is Florence from Supporting Heart, with the July 2018 News Update.

In this newsletter:

HOME VISIT

In July we undertook home visits to drug addicted and homeless people in the Tachilek area (see the photo below). Some of these people are anxious to get off the addiction in order to get a job. Unfortunately many young children and teenagers are also addicted to computer games and drugs. At the shop where they play these games, drugs are also available initially as “free” tasters and afterwards for sale. This is the environment from which we strive to motivate and support children to work towards a better life of good health, dignity and self-sustainability.

Children in the safe house.

SAFE HOUSE NEWS

HOW WRONG THEY ALL WERE!

Each month I plan to update you on the progress we are making in the lives of one of the precious children who stay with us in Baan Rainbow House.  They are a small minority of all the impoverished children we work with. We take them into the house because their cases are the most desperate.

This month I will tell you about Bee (not her real name). We are very limited in what we can say and that is why we block out the children’s faces. However within the limits of what the authorities allow us to say, I will tell you her story. Bee is not an orphan – she does have a mother and a grandmother, but both have serious memory deficiencies due to much class A drug abuse over many years. We took Bee into the safe house at age 6 because we feared she was liable to being trafficked. With our help she attended school for the first time.  She is a very bright girl and now aged 8 she came first out of her year of 120 children! The second photo shows her receiving a trophy. WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!  Bee now dreams of becoming a lawyer, some day.

This is Bee at about 4 years old

This is Bee at about 4 years old

Fast forward four years, this is Bee aged 8, receiving awards from her school

Fast forward four years, this is Bee aged 8, receiving awards from her school

The success Bee achieved may be extreme but everyday we who work with the children see little successes and lives transformed. They inspire us to persevere despite the daily challenges. I look forward to sharing these little stories with you monthly. They show what a difference your support makes possible in the lives of highly vulnerable children.

Bee is just one of our Baan Rainbow children whose life has changed beyond her wildest dreams. Over the coming months, you will hear of many more children who were once written off as having no future, and whose lives have been dramatically improved.

HOW TO HELP

We need your help to keep their home, Baan Rainbow, open.

The overall annual cost of maintaining Baan Rainbow is US$77,000 (2.46m Thai Baht). At present we have 21 people living in Baan Rainbow (17 students and 4 staff members) living in a 3 bedroom single story house. The cost to keep each student in the house is as follows:

Home Visit

During May Supporting Heart team visited to Banana village, Mountain village and Cemetery. We prayed for our extend families, shared our Gods` love and good news. We want you to join us in pray for breaking through the stronghold of Drug addiction, gambling and fighting in families. Some of our extended families children need birth certificates before they can attend Primary school and ask our help, it would be an impossible task for them.

Three photos together at banana village, we prayed for children and families to free from drug and love their parents. Right side photo at cemetery, her husband is in the jail and has two young girls. She sent her older daughter aged 9years old to live in a monastery and receive education. Safe House

We thank our Lord for how He has blessed us. May 21st was the 6th Anniversary for our Safe House ”Baan Rainbow.” We want thank you so much for your commitment, love, pray and supported to our Safe House. Our children

are growing a lot this year, six children will go up to study at secondary school this year.

This month we started morning devotion at 5:00AM with our children and our youth at Safe House leading them. Also we believed that God is putting in our heart that training discipleship and Leadership to our youth and children. They started reading in Old Testament and will finished the end of Revelation this year. We proud of them and see how they grew in Him.  At church they sing and dance every week and this year two girls from Safe house are leading praise and worship at church. What a beautiful and blessing to see they leading at church. Praise the Lord!

We continual seek our Lord bout ways becoming self-sufficient. One way would be for Safe House to be in the position to buy the land. Now the children are growing and coming to teenagers and not safe for them to stay in the house together. The house we rent for Safe House only has 3 bedrooms, we thanked God for six years we stayed together and how he has blessed us. This would help us to work towards becoming self-sufficient. We want you join us in pray for Safe house Land. Our teams saw a land for1Acres and Half and we proclaim in the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus. The price for the Land is 3 million Bahts. (US$93,400, OZ $123,500, S.pore$ 124,700, Swiss Fr.91,900, S.Korean Won 100, 990,000.)

We have been struggle in financial but we believe that Supporting Heart ministry is His ministry and for his glory. We been faithful and serving him and thank you for your support, love, pray and serve alongside with us. We have received some extra funding which will help to keep safe House ministry going another month. However we need your prayer support to be able to break through this financial stronghold.

Romans 11:36

For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

April New Update

To Our Family in Christ Jesus, Supporters, Friends and Family!

I am Florence from Supporting Heart, and here is an update from April!

Thank you to our God and Sponsors:  final exam results Are out

We thank God and our sponsors! Without your generous partnership our kids' progress could not happen. We are so proud of them!

Primary and Secondary Schools had their final exams back in February 2018 with results out April 22nd. All of the 41 children we sponsored for primary school passed.  33 children received A grades and the other 8 received B's!

On May 21st we registered the children again for this upcoming school year 2018-19, so we need your prayer support for their next year too. The School in Myanmar will open on June 1st.

Congratulations to KaiPi

We hope you remember KaiPi. In the January update we wrote about him and his father's death. Supporting Heart Ministry has known him since he started being on the Thai / Myanmar border bridge in 2008. His personality has always been strong and when we first met him he didn't trust people or God. He begged on the bridge for 5 years. Our team built a relationship with him and in 2010 he opened his heart to God and us. He came to the DiC (Drop in Center) everyday to have lunch and praise and worship with us.

In 2011 he joined us in the ministry and starting in 2014 he moved in with us at the Safe House in Myanmar. He learned hair dressing at the YDC (Youth Development Center - formerly called the Drop in Center) every Monday through Wednesday. He studies one day a week at Thai Adult school and April 27th he got certificate that finish Grade6.

Urgent Prayer Request

Dear Brothers and Sister in Christ

I would appreciated your pray for my 94 year old mother as she has been admitted to hospital in England.

I learned this morning that she had a fall, has a cut on the back of her head and has fractured her femur. The doctors are considering an operation today however the big concern is she might not wake up after the operation.

Love in Jesus

Frank & Darunee.

REMEMBER:

We fight from the victory not for it.

Together for the harvest.

March Update

To Our Family in Christ Jesus, Supporters, Friends and Family!

I am Florence from Supporting Heart, and here is the update of March!

Congratulations To Our Boy (DAVID)

We are so proud of one of our sponsored students' achievemnts!

Supporting Heart Ministry has known David since 2008, when he was on the street with his friends. He came to our Drop in Center and attended Thai lessons and painting class - turns out this street kid loves to paint!

His father has been paralyzed since 1998 leaving David's mom to look after all of the family. David has one older brother, one older sister and one younger brother - both brothers are drug addicts. We first met Abraham (David's younger brother) and David when they were just 12 and 13 years old and sponsored both of them to attend school.

Abraham dropped from school when we could no longer afford to pay his extra tuition fees, but David continued to study and finished high school in 2014.  After high school he spent 2 years in teacher training and graduated March 5th, 2018.

He now teaches at the local primary school!

So, we wanted to thank God, first, and then our sponsors from deep within our hearts! Without your support, partnering alongside us, David's story would not have gone this way.

David says " THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! For without your support I would most likely be on the streets, addicted to drugs like my brothers."

Keep Praying For Ar Hue

He is brother of Arjah and worked with Supporting Heart Ministry from 2010 to 2012. After that he left us and got married. Then he became addicted to gambling and starting using drug. He lied to his family, stealing from his house and selling his mobile phone and family motorbike. His parent and wife could no longer accept him because it getting worse over 2years.

After much talk with Arjah and Florence he decides to go discipleship training at Pyin Oo Lwin (Mandalay Division) and gave his life to Jesus.  So we thank God and Lung Frank for support him. This month on 23rd of March he flew to Mandalay and went to Pyin Oo Lwin for 3month Course of discipleship. Please keep him in your pray.

We have not been to Banana Village for a long time because it was unsafe to do so and this year God is opening the door for our team to sharing His Love and God's kingdom again to Banana village. Children are disobedience to mothers, 13years old children using drug and selling. We had a phone called from one of the childrens mother on 22nd of March and her son had beaten her and gave no food. Then our team went to the village and prayed for the mothers and children, encouraging them that Jesus is Love them. We would like you to join us in pray for BREAKING Strong hold of Drug and Gambling.
