Feburary Update

To our family in Christ Jesus, supporters, friends and family!

I am Florence from Supporting Heart, and here is the update for February:

thank you for PRAYers FOR FRANK, Our founder

"Uncle Frank" wants to thank you all for your prayers and support. After falling ill, his condition has recently improved. It’s great to see him free of pain and better again! We're still asking for prayers found in Psalm 103: 2-5:

Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

PLease Pray For  Lydia and Law Phar

Law and Lydia Phar

Law and Lydia Phar

Supporting Heart Ministry met Law and Lydia Phar in 2008, at a time where they were forced to beg on the bridge for their family's drug and alcohol addictions.

Law (pictured left) was rescued from that situation and went on to live in our Safe House in May, 2012.

Lydia wasn't so fortunate. She spent time in a local Thai foundation where she was frequently abused before running away back to her village.

In 2015, Lydia's mother was sentenced to 17 years for drug trafficking and addiction. Her father died July 2016 due to drugs and alcohol related illnesses. At the age of 14, Lydia was forced by extended family to work at her karaoke shop, where she was sexually trafficked to customers.

We came across Lydia again while on our regular, weekly visits to locations of frequent sex trafficking. (This is where we minister and pray for the girls, as well teach them English, Myanmar and basic reading and writing at their request.)

After much prayer and at the right opportunity, she was rescued and came to live in the Safe House.

Lydia spent many days and nights at the Safe House studying. She had never received schooling before. After she had a basic education, she attended “Life School Tuition”, where she learned sewing and handicraft. Despite graduation issues stemming from lack of a government-issued ID, in 2017 she became the youngest student to finish her class.

(ID issues are not new for our children. We continue to fight, like the widow in Luke 18: 1-6.)

We are very proud of her and thank the Lord for the way He has changed her life. She now leads praise and worship at her church while helping our team at the Safe House.

There are many more under aged girls imprisoned in such circumstances and regularly ask our help to be set free. Unfortunately, without funding, we can only offer prayer.

A message from her mother

On February 18th, we received a message from the local prison that her mother had contracted AIDS, was very ill, and asking to see Lydia and Law.

Outside the jail

Outside the jail

We left on Wed the 21st of February and spent the whole day there. Upon reuniting, her mother was delighted to see Lydia and met us with tears of with joy. We were able to pray and encourage her to remain strong and have Faith in Jesus. We are happy to report that she joined us in prayer and committed to His message.

We also had a chance to see some of our children's extend family who were also in jail. We met with MoeMoe, Armuaih, Daneil's, Arki, Law Yeah and Jeremiah's mothers. They also received our prayers. Please continue join us in prayer for our extend families.

Afterwards, we took the opportunity to visit more of our extended family in the local villages. Unfortunately, many of these parents and children are addicted to drugs as well. Our team went to each of the houses and prayed with their families.

We would like to thank God for the words of wisdom and prophecy he gave us as we prayed for each family.

Thank you to our sponsors: final exam TUTORING IN MYANMAR

Primary and Secondary Schools had their end of year, final exams. We thank God and all our sponsors for their support! Thanks to you, our children were able to study and finish this school year

From March 7th-17th, our high school students will take their end of year exams. Your prayers are appreciated! School will commence on June 1st, with registration beginning from the 3rd week of May.

Once again we are asking for your contributions to Supporting Heart. At the time of this writing, we do not have do not have sufficient funds to last until the end of March.

the after exam picnic

Our Safe House children have all finished their exams and are now on a three month holiday. As a treat ,we took them to a picnic on the river bank.

Before they went off swimming, l thank our supporters, without which the ministry would not be possible.

We all owe so much to all of our supporters and continue to thank our Lord for you partnering alongside us. Because of your prayer, support and love, we can stand and fight. God is so good to us because we have family in God, including you, our readers!

Below is a link to a Supporting Heart promotion video, we hope you enjoy it and will share it with your contact list.

January update

To our family in Christ Jesus, supporters, friends and family!

I am Florence from Supporting Heart.

Pray for Lung Frank (Uncle Frank)

We want to Thank GOD first and then thank you all. We appreciate your prayers! Please continue to join us in praying for Lung (Uncle) Frank. Because of your prayers, Frank feels better but is not 100% yet. He is still being treated via medication by a local heart specialist doctor. We're praying Psalm 103:2-5.

Pray for Kai Pi

Kai Pi

Please also pray for one of our leaders-in-training, Kai Pi, in our boy's discipleship program. On the 30th of December, 2017, his father was found dead, burned by fire in the cemetery. His father had lived at the Christian cemetery for over 25 years, looking after the cemetery. He had been drug addicted for 20 years, but after we (Supporting Heart Ministry) met with him, he opened his heart to Jesus. We are so upset about his death but happy he is with our Father in Heaven - no pain or suffering any more for him here on earth.

Kai Pi (the boy in the red jacket below) was so sad because he believed his father's death wasn't an accident. Our team is praying and comforting him and his brother and sister.

We're continuing to visit the cemetery and to visit street families, sharing the LOVE of GOD.  We believed God is moving among the street families as they are more hungry and interested in opening their hearts to God. Praise the LORD!

Pray Against Drug Use/Addiction

One of our biggest prayer requests is against the stronghold of drugs in our extended family and youth. A couple years  ago, one tablet of Yabaa (a local drug), costed 180 baht. As of today, the cost of one tablet is now down to 5 to 7 baht, making it so easy for anyone to buy and quickly become addicted to the drug.

Now, Yabaa is less famous, but unfortunately heroin is easy to get and buy. The more the Government works to clean up drugs off the streets, the easier it is to get and buy them. We believe prayer is powerful and need your prayers for our extended family, youth and street family. Our team visits and prays for them every Friday.

2 Corinthians 3:17

"Where the spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM."

Sponsoring Schooling and Tutoring in Myanmar

In January, every school gives prizes to the students in ranked the top 10% for the 2016-2017 school year.

In primary school, 41 of our children ranked in the top 10% - 39 school-sponsored children plus 2 of our safe house children.

In secondary school 33children got Top ten 20. We thank God and you for your care. Because of your love and support, children can do more than just attend school - they can get the crucial extra tutoring they need to rank in the top of their class and earn prizes.

Of the Safe House children, 12 attended in the 2016-2017 school year and earned top ranked prizes. All 12 children ranked top 10%. The school also gives prizes to the top 3 students, of those one of our Safe House children earned a #1 and two children earned #2 spots! Praise the LORD!

Thanks to you, our street children are off the street, in school - not just struggling to learn, but excelling and leading their classes.

Our children also earned prizes for support. We are so proud of them thank the Lord for his help. We're also so thankful to our sponsors.

Romans 8:28

Purchasing of two acres of land

The team found a 2 acres lot a little outside of town in a good area at the asking price of 4 million Thai Baht (around $161,018 AUD at today's exchange rate). We continue to pray.

Government ID for the Kids

We are still waiting for the process to finalize. Please cover us in prayer.  Your covering is always needed as we are always under attack in more areas than I could even get into in one newsletter (or safely publish).

Pastor Jonathan's health is good! He has been on medication for a long time, which created negative side effects in his eyes. We found out his left eye has been going blind for a year. So, please keep him in your prayer for healing.

James 5:15

The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.

We all pray for you and thank you and cannot do ministry without you.

Special Team Visit

This week we had an American team from HireAHelper come visit us. They came January 5th to serve, paint and help us with accounting. We are so blessed to have them.

The HireAHelper team came with their accountant, Kristyn, who helped us organize our books and spreadsheets as we finalized 2017. Kristyn even deisgnd a new, easier spreadsheet system for us for 2018.

We immediately went to her house, neighbors came but no one don’t want to touch dead body or help, because they poor.  Our team cleaned the body and put him in the coffin. Even though they stayed at the Christian village no one want to help the family and comfort them. We very upset at what we saw and our team encourage the children and comfort them. He had  6 siblings. 2 older brothers are drug addicted and one sister married, youngest sisters and brothers are in school. We appreciate your prays for the children and the village Christian families would love and support them and not continue reject them.

Helping Burmese Street Children

Home visit.

Home visit.

About our kids

Burma kids from poor Burmese villages, cross the Northern Thailand border each day to beg. Children are expected to provide for their family -they beg for a daily 'quota', mostly around 50 Thai Baht ($1.60 AUD).

Their food is whatever is left in the rubbish.

Many sleep on the streets for fear of abuse at home. Many do not have a home.
Whole families also sleep on the street.

Physical and sexual abuse is the norm, by both family members and locals.

Hunted for sex: But you can help

For those who want to make a buck out of selling a child into the wrong hands, these children are perfect – Mae Sai is crawling with them – vulnerable, poor, wanting something better.

Here’s how it goes :
A sweet-talking stranger will approach a child with the offer of a job such as waitressing. The child agrees, and they end up serving as a sexual slave.

They are used and abused, beaten and tortured, often ending up with HIV and severe trauma.

The poverty and desperation of the people in Mae Sai drives parents or close family relations to sell their children to “agents”.

Since poverty is a key element in this whole process, we seek to get more and more children off the street and get them into school, where they can get an education, and secure a good job.

You can help by sponsoring a child to go to school.

Please write to us if you are willing to help these kids from the dangerous life they live.

Real Kids, Needing Real Help

The children you have just read about are real and do exist. They have been subjected to horrific experiences... Beaten, burned, tortured, trafficked, raped, starved, shot, forced into drugs... Five to ten year olds favoured by paedophiles... Sold into brothels and become SEX SLAVES... It goes on every day and night.

They are the prey of every kind of pervert, and scorned by nearly all. They may be the same age as your precious loved ones who you would protect with your life.

We are doing the same as you would - these children are our future. They have none of what is available to you and they are entitled to nothing. We and people like us are their only hope and without support for our ministry we also cannot survive. We survive on donations, no matter how large or small; without them we would have to close.

Any regular donation, (or even a single donation) to Supporting Heart can make a difference to lives. We are fighting for the rights and survival of our Trafficked, Abused Women and Children, and Street Children as well as those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. We are always looking for donors on a one off or regular basis, along with sponsors for our childrens needs. We would be grateful if you would pass our information on to anyone you know seeking a good cause to support.
