Safe House
Our Safe House provides protection for 17 vulnerable children and teenagers who have no family. Children in the area are at extreme risk of being trafficked into sex slavery. Some are as young as 18 months. Our shelter is often the difference between life and a living death.
Education
Sponsoring a child through Supporting Heart is their chance for a basic education. Major effects of a lack of education include: poor health, lack of a voice, shorter lifespan, unemployment, exploitation and gender inequality.
Our street children are a mix - some orphaned, some abandoned, some from stateless families with no IDs. The parents can be seriously addicted to drugs/alcohol and use the children as a source of income to feed their addictions. Usually, one or both parents are in jail with long prison sentences for possessing and/or selling drugs. These children were subject to horrific abuse and education is their only lifeline out of abuse and poverty.
HIV Aids Ministry
The communities in MaeSai Tachileik on the Thai Myanmar border, are struggling with an ongoing HIV epidemic. We sponsor ARV medication and provide love and support to those devastated by HIV in our community.
